Divorce Litigation

Division of property, consolation money, custody and child support are all at stake at once. The deeper the conflict runs, the more the evidence you secure decides the outcome.

Divorce Cases

A divorce is not simply a procedure for bringing a marriage to an end. It is a significant family law dispute in which a range of legal questions arise together, including the division of property, consolation money, custody and child support.

Where the conflict between the parties has deepened, the legal response and the evidence secured can have a large effect on the outcome of the case.

Ilsang Law Office provides expert legal services across family law matters as a whole, including divorce litigation, division of property, claims for consolation money, and disputes over custody and child support.

We examine the particular circumstances of each case closely, and assist responsibly in protecting the client's rights and interests and in reaching a satisfactory result.

What We Cover

A divorce looks like a single case, but in practice several claims move together. We handle the four below within one case.

Divorce Litigation

When no agreement can be reached, or the other spouse will not consent to a divorce, the marriage is brought to an end through the courts. Which circumstances you recorded, and in what form, becomes the centre of the dispute.

Division of Property

The property built up during the marriage is divided by weighing its extent and each spouse's contribution. Property registered in one spouse's name alone can still be subject to division.

Claims for Consolation Money

A claim for compensation for emotional suffering against the spouse responsible for the breakdown of the marriage. It is a separate claim, different in nature from dividing up the property.

Custody and Child Support

This settles who will raise the child and how much each parent will contribute towards support, and in what way. It stays with both parents long after the divorce, so what is agreed at the outset matters.
